iinside was founded in 1999 by ex-NASA scientists who were instrumental in the creation of today’s GPS (Global Positioning Satellite) framework. As experts in outside and inside positioning technologies, they brought with them patents for motion detection and queuing solutions which have provided for the foundation of iinside’s ability to track, monitor and provide analytical insights into pedestrian movements. After several years of providing human flow solutions for the tourism and retail segments, iinside entered the airport industry in 2013. iinside has since grown to become the North America leader in airport queuing wait times and passenger flow intelligence
We are passionate about two key issues – passenger satisfaction and data accuracy. We are continually improving how we capture data and the technology we use for converting indoor motion to wait times and other operationally useful-metrics. When it comes to passenger satisfaction, we work with our clients to better measure and better manage the causes for excess wait times. We have also learned that passengers perceive wait times as being longer than the actual wait times. This perception gap coupled with uncertainty contributes to higher passenger stress and anxiety. Hence, we work with airports to provide not only accurate wait times, but also help them distribute this vital information to their traveling customers in the most efficient way.
